Y6 Stockton hockey finals, April 2016

On 20th April, our two hockey teams competed in the Stockton finals at Egglescliffe Comp, having qualified on the back of excellent performances at the Conyers cluster tournament in March.

The Lions ended up playing games against St. Francis (winning 2-0), Norton (winning 6-0) and Preston (winning 5-0): this ensured them ending up as group winners and qualifying for the Tees Valley finals.

The Leopards played against Myton Park (winning 1-0), Oaktree (winning 2-0), Holy Trinity (winning 2-1) and Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary (winning 2-0): the Leopards too topped their group and also qualified for the Tees Valley finals.

A huge thank you again to all the parents/relatives who were able to attend yesterday’s finals – your support is always hugely important to the children and to the school; thanks also to Mrs Loughran and Mr Sadler for accompanying the children to the event; a final thanks to the children themselves for impeccable behaviour and sportsmanship across the afternoon.

The Tees Valley finals will be held at St. Peter’s Catholic College in South Bank, Middlesbrough on Thursday 23rd June, with an opening ceremony to be held at the MFC Herlingshaw Centre in Eston at 9:30am. From there, the children will be walked down to St. Peter’s for the hockey.
