Stockton Garden of Remembrance

As a school, Levendale was invited to place symbols of remembrance in the Garden of Remembrance behind Stockton Parish Church.

Mr Beadnall, the Head Boy, Head Girl and their respective deputies went to place the symbols from Y6 on behalf of all the children and staff of Levendale on November 5th 2014.

Whilst there, we were given a brief history of the Durham Light Infantry, held a minute’s silence and enjoyed a short Service of Remembrance, including The Last Post and Reveille. It was a very moving experience and it was an honour to meet so many veterans at the Garden.

We would like to offer our sincere thanks and gratitude to the Royal British Legion, the Durham Light Infantry Association and especially  Lt Col John Heron who invited Levendale to participate in the first instance and who delivered the service at the Garden.

On Armistice Day, we were kindly given this beautiful Remembrance arrangement from Sue Scott (Phebe Lancaster’s grandmother) on behalf of Worsall Village Hall W.I. Thank you very much indeed on behalf of the staff and children of Levendale Primary School.
