A dynamic list of frequently asked questions from The 1590 Trust: 1590 Trust closure FAQs

Guidance is now available from the Government on what constitutes a ‘key worker’ during the upcoming period of enforced school closure. Please refer to the documents below:

https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/closure-of-educational-settings-information-for-parents-and-carers/closure-of-educational-settings-information-for-parents-and-carers

https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/coronavirus-covid-19-maintaining-educational-provision/guidance-for-schools-colleges-and-local-authorities-on-maintaining-educational-provision

The second link is the most useful in terms of defining key/critical workers.

If children can stay safely at home, they should, to limit the chance of the virus spreading. Many parents working in these sectors may be able to ensure their child is kept at home; every child who can be safely cared for at home should be. That is why the government has asked parents to keep their children at home, wherever possible, and asked schools to remain open only for those children who absolutely need to attend. If your work is critical to the COVID-19 response, or you work in one of the critical sectors listed above, and you cannot keep your child safe at home then your children will be prioritised for education provision.

If you are a key worker, could you please let us know urgently whether you are intending to send your children into school during our period of enforced closure and which days/times you require emergency provision from school? We are going to have an unprecedented level of demand on our phone systems today and, where possible, we would appreciate an e-mail to levendale@levendale.org.uk (if you ARE a key worker) to outline the provision you would like for your child from next week.

Please bear with us: we are also attempting to call all parents across the day and you may therefore get a call from school (or a representative from the Local Authority) even if you have already e-mailed. I apologise if this is the case.
